Toddler dies after collision in Bristol

A toddler has died in hospital after what police described as a "fatal road traffic collision" in Bristol.

Avon and Somerset Police said there had been a fatal collision at about 15:00 BST in Hollway Road, Stockwood, near Whitchurch.

The force would not confirm if the boy had been a pedestrian or any further details about the incident.

He was taken to the city's Frenchay Hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died.

The road was temporarily closed while investigators examined the scene.
