HPA investigates cryptosporidiosis cases in South Gloucestershire

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) is investigating cases of an infection which causes diarrhoea.

Two people in South Gloucestershire have been diagnosed with cryptosporidiosis, and another two are awaiting test results.

Swimmers are being reminded to shower before using communal pools and not to swallow pool water to avoid contracting the water-borne parasite.

The HPA monitors outbreaks to try to find the source of an infection.
