New path linking Bristol and Nailsea offers 'safer' route

A new path for walkers and cyclists which offers a traffic-free route from Nailsea to Bristol has opened.

The one-mile stretch cost £180,000 and has been built via a partnership between North Somerset Council and sustainable transport charity Sustrans.

It is part of a drive to provide traffic-free links for people in the area to get to work, schools and shops.

The council's Elfan Ap Rees said it offers a "safer alternative" for commuters to the nearby A370 road.

The new section links Yanley Lane, Long Ashton and Ashton Court.
