Bristol police target street drinkers in Filwood

Street drinking is to be banned in parts of south Bristol after local people complained to police about anti-social behaviour.

A No Public Drinking Zone will be set up in Filwood giving police the power to stop people drinking alcohol and to confiscate opened bottles and cans.

Police said treatment would be offered to those with "problematic use of alcohol".

The scheme starts on 1 April and signs have been erected in the zones.
