South Gloucestershire parking changes to combat 'abuse'

Parking regulations in South Gloucestershire have been changed after claims drivers were abusing them.

Drivers who park on streets illegally will no longer be given a five-minute grace period before being issued with a fine.

And anyone seen stopping on a restricted area outside a school will also receive an on-the-spot fine.

South Gloucestershire Council said drivers were "abusing" grace periods and causing traffic obstructions.

The authority has brought in the changes after consultation with local traders and community groups.

A full list of parking changes can be found on the South Gloucestershire Council website.
