Bristol post strike called off by union

A planned strike by Royal Mail staff in part of Bristol at the weekend has been called off, the Communication Workers Union says.

The union held a ballot claiming the firm had set "unrealistic targets" and was refusing to honour a summer leave agreement in Fishponds.

Negotiations over the issues were resolved on Thursday and unanimously accepted by workers on Friday.

The union said they had reached a "common sense resolution".
