Eleven men have been charged with football-related offences following disorder during Bristol Rovers's end of season match, police have said.

They have been charged with various offences including violent disorder, going on to the pitch, public disorder and affray.

The men are due to appear before Bristol Magistrates in September.

Rovers were relegated for the first time in their history following their defeat to Mansfield Town on 3 May.

There were pockets of disorder during and after the match at the Memorial Stadium in Filton and the pitch was invaded on the final whistle.

Police said 15 additional people who were arrested on the day of the game and during the weeks since the game, remained on police bail, pending further inquiries.

"A number of fans have contacted us and confirmed that they will be voluntarily attending police stations over the coming days," the force said in a statement.
