Shopping centre stabbing accused denies attempted murder

A man, charged in connection with the stabbing of a man at a shopping centre near Bristol, has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder.

David Barrow, 46, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to a separate charge of wounding with intent.

A 41-year-old man was taken to hospital following the attack, close to the Marks & Spencer store at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, on Saturday 12 July.

The defendant is next due to appear at Bristol Crown Court on 27 October.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said the victim had been discharged from hospital and was recovering at home.
