A man has been found dead in an alleyway in Weston-super-Mare, after reports he fell from an upstairs window.

Avon and Somerset Police said he was found between two properties in Locking Road at about 22:00 BST on Monday.

It is not known how he died, but witnesses reported seeing someone fall.

Officers say they want to hear from anybody who heard a "disturbance" or spoke to a man in a "confused or distressed" state that night.

Neighbourhood Inspector Sharon Bennett said: "At this stage in our enquiries we do not know how the man came by his injuries, however witnesses report seeing someone fall from an upper window.

"We are making house-to-house enquiries in the Locking Road and Ashcombe Road areas and Crime Scene Investigators are making a forensic examination of the scene, including using a cherry picker to check neighbouring buildings."
