A 23-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man who fell from the Avon Gorge in Bristol has been released on bail, police said.

Officers from Avon and Somerset were called to Circular Road on Clifton Down at about 19:30 GMT on Saturday after reports a man had fallen.

The body of Jamie Tipper, 28, from Old Market, Bristol was found a short time later near the Portway.

A post-mortem examination has found his injuries were consistent with a fall.

An appeal for witnesses has been made for anyone who was in the Clifton Downs or Circular Road area at the time.

In a statement Mr Tipper's family said Jamie would be "sadly missed by everyone that knew him, especially his twin brother Craig, brothers Daniel, Ben, Ross, and sister Amy".
