Bristol park attack: Injured man dies in hospital

A man who was seriously injured during an attack in a Bristol park has died.

The victim, aged in his 50s and from the Horfield area, was taken to hospital with a head injury after the assault off Redcliff Hill on Tuesday.

A man and a woman, both in their 30s, are being held in connection with the attack.

Senior Investigating Officer Andrew Mott said it was "a tragic incident" and "a full and thorough investigation" was under way.

"We're keen to speak to anyone who was in the Redcliff Hill area between the hours of 19:00 and 21:00 on Tuesday," he said.

"We're particularly keen to talk to a jogger who was seen running past the park at the time as well as anyone else who was walking through or past."
