Three arrested after Bristol bomb scare

Three people have been arrested after a bomb scare in Bristol city centre caused by a car left outside a police station.

The alert was sparked after the Volkswagen Golf was spotted at Bridewell Street station on Sunday.

Officers closed much of the city centre for a number of hours and army bomb disposal experts were also called in.

Two men aged 23 and 24 and a 19-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of theft.

They remain in police custody and are also being questioned over going equipped for theft and causing a public nuisance.
