A taxi driver has been rescued from the roof of his car after it crashed and started sinking in a water-filled dyke in Cambridgeshire.

Another man, the passenger in the taxi, managed to reach the safety of the bank at Honeyhill Road in Gorefield.

But the driver, who could not swim, had to be rescued by firefighters.

They used an inflatable platform to reach the stranded man who had cuts and bruises. He was taken to hospital. The other man was not injured.
