Poacher crackdown in Cambridgeshire nets 47 people
A crackdown on hare coursing and night poaching is under way in Cambridgeshire and police are appealing to the public to help them.
Forty-seven people have received court summonses and six vehicles have been seized since September, police said.
Ten incidents of night poaching were reported to police last weekend.
"There has been an increase this year in the number of offences occurring in remote locations," Sgt Jo Reeves, from the force, said.
"Night poaching is also on the increase with offenders trespassing on land and using dogs or guns to kill the animals.
"It is very important that people report incidents immediately so officers can get to the scene and catch the culprits."
