Drivers warned of icy conditions in Cambridgeshire

Cambridgeshire County Council has warned motorists to "watch out" in the icy conditions as temperatures plunged to -4C (25F) overnight.

Little further snow fell during a very cold night on Tuesday but many roads were very icy early on Wednesday and some minor roads remain ungritted.

Gritting lorries were sent out, but the council warned even gritted roads could become icy.

No school closures were reported and none had shut on Tuesday.

Weatherquest, based at the University of East Anglia, said after a cold and icy start Wednesday should remain dry with perhaps some bright or sunny spells, with a maximum temperature of 0C (32F).
