Peterborough council demolishes car firm's canopy

A metal canopy which was attached to a Peterborough house so it could be used as a car repair business has been knocked down by the city council.

Planning permission had not been given for the canopy outside the house in Stone Lane, Millfield.

The council served enforcement notices ordering that it be removed after neighbours complained the house was being used as a business.

The council said it would sell on the confiscated metal.
