A 33-year-old man and a woman, 26, were arrested on Friday and are being held at Thorpe Wood police station.

The boy, whose identity has not yet been released by police, died on Monday.

A post-mortem examination has yet to confirm the cause of death and further tests are being carried out.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokeswoman said: "A man and a woman arrested in connection with the death yesterday remain in custody at Thorpe Wood police station after an extension order was granted.

"We are unable to name the boy due to safeguarding issues."
