'Unprovoked' assault on teenage girl in Cambridge

An attack on a teenage girl in Cambridge has been described by police as "nasty and unprovoked".

The 16-year-old was with friends outside Tesco, Campkin Road, at about 1800 BST on 10 June when she was approached by two girls.

One of them kicked and punched her to the ground but she managed to escape and called police.

A number of people tried to help the girl and police want them, or anyone with information, to contact officers.
