Council reviews homelessness plan in east Cambridgeshire.

A council is reviewing how it tackles homelessness in Cambridgeshire.

Ely-based East Cambridgeshire District Council is to review how best to meet the needs of those coming to them for help.

Last year the council received over 1,700 requests for help and re-housed over 200 families.

Following the new problems facing people caused by the recession the council said it was important to review its help in housing people.

The review will take place over the next few months with a final improvement plan to be considered in February 2012.
