Canning plants in Wisbech and Long Sutton sold in £182m deal

Premier Foods canning plants in Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire have been sold to a Liverpool company.

Princes has bought the two canning sites at Wisbech and Long Sutton, along with brands such as Crosse and Blackwell in a £182m deal.

The sites together employ more than 1,000 people.

Ken Critchley, Princes managing director, said the move would provide the food firm's customers with a "broader range" of products.
