Cambridgeshire A1 to close for power line repairs

A stretch of the A1 near Peterborough is to close later to allow repairs to continue after a fatal light aircraft crash damaged power lines.

Pilot Clive Greenaway, 52, of Stratford-upon-Avon, died when his plane came down in fields at Water Newton on Friday.

Both carriageways of the A1 were closed for 24 hours while power lines were repaired.

Further work will be carried out when both carriageways close from 2100 BST.

Mr Greenaway had flown from Long Marston Airfield in Warwickshire.
