Cambridge violence: Three charged

Three people have been charged with violent disorder after rubbish was thrown at police during disturbances in Cambridge.

Up to 40 youths had gathered on Midsummer Common as riots broke out across England on 9 August.

Two men, aged 20 and 18, and a boy, aged 16, will appear before Cambridge Magistrates' Court on 7 October.

The 20-year-old is also charged with possessing cannabis and the boy faces a charge of assaulting a police officer.

Police arrested 16 people during the incident but 13 face no further action.
