Julian Lloyd Webber named Cambridge Corn Exchange artist in residence
Cellist Julian Lloyd Webber has been named as artist in residence at Cambridge's Corn Exchange.
Mr Lloyd Webber, who celebrated his 60th birthday earlier this year, joins the city arts venue as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.
He said he hoped to add to the "rich mix" of music offered at the Corn Exchange during his residency.
He will be performing recitals, holding pre-concert talks and working closely with community music schemes.
Mr Lloyd Webber added that he was looking forward to working closely with Cambridgeshire Music, a county council-led scheme to develop music in schools and community groups.
He said he hoped to "ensure that more and more young people benefit from what great music has to offer".
The world-renowned cellist will perform a number of recitals at the Corn Exchange in 2012.
