Police hunt gunman after shot fired in Cambridgeshire crash

Police investigating a crash in Cambridgeshire are looking for a gunman who fled the scene.

A man was treated in hospital for minor injuries after his car flipped and went into a ditch, on the A47 between Guyhirn and Wisbech.

Officers are investigating reports a gun was fired from another vehicle around the time of the incident, in the early hours of Saturday.

Police are searching for the occupant of the other vehicle.

A Cambridgeshire police spokeswoman confirmed a "firearm" had been involved and said officers were looking for a suspect in connection with the incident.

She said she could not comment further.

The driver was taken to hospital in King's Lynn but has since discharged himself.

Police closed the road for nearly 12 hours on Saturday as an investigation was launched.

Cambridgeshire police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
