Girl, 11, hit by bus near Thomas Deacon Academy

An 11-year-old girl has been left with "life-changing" head injuries after being hit by a bus in Cambridgeshire.

The girl fell into the path of the bus near the Thomas Deacon Academy in Park Road, Peterborough, at about 16:25 GMT, said Cambridgeshire police.

It is not yet clear whether she was a pupil at the school. The girl has been taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

Police have been investigating the cause of the accident.
