The last known movements of a 76-year-old former farmer murdered in Cambridgeshire have been reconstructed for a television appeal.

BBC's Crimewatch team will feature the Chittering home of Llywelyn Thomas, whose body was discovered there on 18 December.

Police hope the televised appeal, together with rewards totalling £50,000, will help find his killer.

Detectives believe Mr Thomas was killed on 17 December in a botched burglary.

He had moved to the area 12 years ago from Wales, to be nearer his family.

The family is offering £20,000 for information leading to the conviction of his murderer.

Crimestoppers is offering a further £10,000 and Cambridgeshire police £20,000.

Det Ch Insp George Barr said: "Any information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, could be vital in bringing those responsible to justice."
