Six people have been arrested by police investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the bedroom of his Cambridgeshire home.

Four men, aged 26, 24, 22 and 20, and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of murdering Llywelyn Thomas, 76, in Chittering.

A 26-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

The retired farmer's body was found on 18 December.

Mr Thomas had moved to the area from south Wales 12 years before to be nearer his family.

The suspects are being questioned at Thorpe Wood police station in Peterborough and March police station.

Police are also searching several properties in south Cambridgeshire.

The case was featured on a BBC Crimewatch programme earlier this month. Detectives said they believed Mr Thomas had been killed during a botched burglary.

Rewards totalling £50,000 have been offered for information leading to the conviction of those responsible.
