Magistrates' court fly problem

Cambridge Magistrates' Court has called in pest controllers to deal with an infestation of flies caused by dead pigeons.

Pigeons had become trapped in the dry riser, a pipes system which lets fire crews pump water into the building.

A court spokesman said the area was cleaned this week and all flies removed.

Hearings were unaffected and the court is looking for a long-term solution, he said.
