Cambridge aerospace death victim named as Paul Bowers

A man who died when he was crushed by "heavy metal material" at an industrial unit in Cambridge has been named.

Paul Bowers, 47, of Peverel Close, Cambridge, died at Hanger 14, Marshall Aerospace, on 26 January, coroners confirmed.

Mr Bowers died of severe multiple injuries, his inquest heard.

A spokesman for CAV Aerospace, which leases the unit near Newmarket Road, said it was "working with the authorities to determine the cause".

The firm's chief executive Owen McFarlane added: "Our thoughts are very much with [the man's] family and his colleagues at this time."

The Health and Safety Executive said it was "making inquiries".
