Llywelyn Thomas murder: Two deny murder at Old Bailey
Two men have appeared at the Old Bailey charged with murdering a former farmer at his Cambridgeshire home.
Llywelyn Thomas, 76, originally from south Wales, was found dead at his home in Chittering in December 2011.
Frankie Parker, 25, of Nene Road, Ely, and Gary Smith, 20, of no fixed address pleaded not guilty.
John Smith, 66, of Wold Gate, Bridlington, East Yorkshire, denied assisting an offender in relation to the case.
Police believe Mr Thomas, a retired farmer who had moved to Cambridgeshire from his former home near Bridgend to be closer to his family, was killed in a botched burglary during the night between 17 and 18 December.
Post-mortem tests found he died from face and head injuries.
Rewards totalling £50,000 have been offered for information leading to the conviction of those responsible.
A trial will begin on 1 July at Cambridge Crown Court and is expected to last about four weeks.
