UKIP Wisbech councillor on benefit fraud charge
A UKIP councillor in Cambridgeshire is to appear at Peterborough Crown Court on a charge of benefit fraud.
Peter Lagoda, who represents Wisbech South on the county council, appeared before Cambridge magistrates earlier.
He is accused of failing to inform Fenland District Council of a change in his circumstances. The alleged offence took place between 2008 and 2010.
Mr Lagoda, who pleaded not guilty, is due to appear at Peterborough Crown Court on 2 September.
