Detectives investigating the disappearance of a Cambridgeshire pub landlady in 1997 are searching the public house where she worked.

Deborah Steel, who was 37, ran the Royal Standard in Ely. She was last seen in the early hours of 28 December. Her body has not been found.

Police said the pub was being searched "as part of an ongoing investigation" into her disappearance.

The current landlord "is not connected with the investigation", they said.

Ms Steel's disappearance was reclassified from a long-term missing person inquiry to a murder inquiry by Cambridgeshire Police last year.

A 73-year-old man from Ely, arrested in connection with the investigation, was bailed until 17 February.
