Funds raised at Sennen Cove lifeboat station open day

Just under £2,000 has been raised for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution during an open day at one of its Cornwall stations.

Crowds of people attended the event at Sennen Cove lifeboat station to get a glimpse of how the service operates.

Earlier this year the station, which underwent a multi-million pound upgrade of its boathouse and slipway, took ownership of a new £2.7m lifeboat.

Visitors were shown around the vessel and given the chance to speak to crews.

A spokesperson for the RNLI described the event as a "resounding success".
