New police commander for Cornwall and Isles of Scilly

A new commander of policing has been appointed for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Ch Supt Chris Boarland is taking over the role on an interim basis from Ch Supt Elaine Marshall, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

The move comes because Ch Supt Marshall is retiring from the force in October.

Mr Boarland, who has been an officer for 28 years, is to carry out the role alongside his current position as head of the force's leadership directorate.
