The new owner of a 405 acre golf and leisure complex in north Cornwall said the sale would preserve jobs and create new employment opportunities.

Canadian-born entrepreneur Randy Sohnchen bought the Rosearrow Estate, on the coast near Polzeth, for an undisclosed amount.

The complex opened 14 years ago and has a championship standard golf course.

Mr Sohnchen is planning construction work and renovations at the site, which currently employs about 30 staff.

Mr Sohnchen said: "The sale will secure current employment in the area and provide additional jobs in the future.

"It is my intention to work with property owners and the local community, to ensure that whatever we do in the future will be in the best interests of everyone."
