St Columb house blaze tackled by fire crews

Firefighters from across Cornwall started the new year by tackling a house fire in St Columb.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said the alarm was raised by the householders just after midnight.

Crews from St Columb, Newquay, St Dennis, Truro, Wadebridge and St Austell used breathing apparatus to control the fire at the two-storey building at Jenner Parc.

No-one was injured and an investigation into the cause of the fire has begun.

The roof and first floor of the house were badly damaged in the fire.
