Man held as police find drugs in car near Helston

Drugs with an estimated street value of more than £300,000 have been seized by police after a car was stopped in Cornwall.

Police said up to 12kg of controlled drugs were in the Audi when it was stopped on the A394 near Helston.

The driver, a 48-year-old man from Cornwall, was arrested and his home was later searched.

About 300 cannabis plants were found to be growing at the property. The man remains in custody.

Police described the cannabis cultivation as "substantial".
