Cornwall chalet destroyed in suspected arson attack

A chalet on the north Cornish coast has been completely destroyed in a fire.

Three crews from Perranporth, Redruth and Truro were sent to the scene at Goonvrea, near St Agnes, after it was reported at about 0445 GMT.

The 6m by 4m (19ft by 13ft) single-storey building is believed to have been derelict.

A spokesman for Cornwall Fire Service said crews had to spend considerable time damping down after the fire was extinguished and arson was suspected.
