Security van robbery at Newquay supermarket

Police are investigating the robbery of a security vehicle at a supermarket in Cornwall.

The force said they believed two men, thought to be armed with hard objects, threatened a security guard who was restocking the ATM machines at Morrisons supermarket.

The men escaped in a white van, which was later found burnt out in a residential area of Newquay.

The raiders escaped with a quantity of cash and investigations are continuing.

Officers were called to the supermarket just after 0900 BST.

No-one is thought to have been injured during the incident.
