Firefighters tackle Ashton motel chalet fire

Firefighters have tackled a motel chalet fire in Cornwall.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service received several 999 calls just after 2100 BST on Monday about the fire at Ashton, between Helston and Penzance.

The single storey chalet, on the site of a former motel, was well alight and had spread to the roofs of adjoining properties.

No-one was seriously injured, but two people were treated for the effects of breathing in smoke.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
