Cornwall sailors stranded in hit-and-run
A yacht was left stranded after it collided with another boat off Falmouth.
The yacht's rigging and engine were damaged in the collision at about 2300 BST on Monday.
The other boat, which has not been identified, did not stop, according to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, which is investigating the incident.
The 40ft (12m) yacht Melodrama was towed to shore by the Falmouth lifeboat after the collision.
A coastguard spokesman said: "Fortunately the yacht was not holed but the other vessel would not have known that.
"It's hard to believe how anyone could leave another vessel like that without knowing what condition it was in."
Coastguards spoke to the yacht's crew later to try to identify the other vessel.
Alan Loveday, from Falmouth Coastguard, said: "Initially they thought it was a fishing vessel, but their description implies it could be a little more than that.
"It could have possibly been some sort of work boat. We're still working on it."
