A murder investigation has been launched after a man died following an incident near Penzance in Cornwall.
The man was recovered from the sea with injuries and taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro by helicopter. He later died.
Officers said another man had been arrested and remained in custody.
Police were called to Newlyn Harbour by coastguards at about 1000 BST after receiving a report of an incident involving a small rowing boat.
Detective Inspector Costa Nassaris said: "We're conducting a post mortem to establish the cause of death.
"I must stress that this is the early stages of a murder investigation and our job now is to piece together events leading to this incident.
"We're also in the process of identifying and informing the next of kin."
Coastguards from Falmouth were also involved in the rescue.
