Mount's Bay rowing boat murder suspect appears in court

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a man in a rowing boat near St Michael's Mount in Cornwall.

Gitarus Butkus, 48, from Lithuania, is accused of killing Jesse Tracey, 56, from Penzance.

Mr Tracey was pulled from the water by a lifeboat crew in Mount's Bay on 24 May and was pronounced dead later.

Mr Butkus, who was named in a previous court appearance as Butkys Vidmantas, made no plea and was remanded in custody for trial on 31 October.
