A Cornwall councillor has been removed from a key council scrutiny role.

Jan Powell said she was told by council leader Alec Robertson that she was no longer on the Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee.

The Liskeard North councillor said she was waiting to hear if the move was immediate. A meeting of the committee due on Tuesday has been cancelled.

Conservative Mr Robertson said he was not commenting on the subject because it was an internal local party issue.

The 123-seat unitary authority is controlled by the Conservatives and Independents.
