Future of Helston Folk Museum to be reviewed

A review is to take place into the future of a museum in Cornwall.

Organisations involved with Helston Folk Museum are considering how the museum will operate beyond 2012 when its current funding runs out.

An initial meeting found Cornwall Council may not be the best organisation to maintain it and other options needed to be considered.

Councillor Judith Haycock said: "I wish to assure everyone that there is no intention to close the museum."

She added: "This review is an exciting opportunity to look at how we can build on its strengths and ensure its success for the future."

Helston Folk Museum is the only museum in the county which is run by the council.
