Fire in third-floor flat in Hayle

An investigation has begun into the cause of a fire in a third-floor flat in a town in Cornwall.

The fire broke out in the building in Foundry Square in Hayle at about 1910 BST.

The fire service said it received a number of calls alerting it and three crews extinguished it.

There were initial fears that someone was trapped in the building but a later search confirmed that no one was injured, the fire service said.
