Man charged over north Cornwall barn fires

A 49-year-old man has been charged with arson and blackmail in connection with a series of barn fires in Cornwall.

David Glynn Le Marquand, of Trebursye, Launceston, has been charged with three counts of arson after fires were reported in the Launceston and Camelford areas last week.

He is also alleged to have demanded more than £200,000 from the owner of the barns.

Mr Le Marquand is due to appear at Bodmin Magistrates' Court later.
