Free surfing to keep children active in Cornwall

Free surf lessons are being offered to children in Cornwall to encourage them to be active during the holidays.

The one hour sessions are provided at the Perranporth Surf Lifesaving Club and being paid by a community fund.

The club said its aim was a promote healthy living and educate children about water safety.

The NHS in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly secured £18,000 from the government's Change4Life community project.

It also hopes to use the money to promote other healthy campaigns in the county.
