Man in court over alleged Launceston false imprisonment

A 56-year-old man has appeared in court in connection with an incident at a Cornish pub.

Stephen Atkinson, of the Newmarket Inn, Race Hill, Launceston is charged with four counts of false imprisonment and one count of making a threat to kill.

Devon and Cornwall Police were alerted to an incident at the Newmarket Inn just before 06:00 BST on Monday.

Mr Atkison was remanded in custody by Bodmin magistrates to appear before Truro Magistrates' Court on 23 August.
