Zanzibar attack ship helped by Falmouth coastguard
Falmouth Coastguard has been helping a ship involved in a pirate attack off the coast of Africa on Thursday night.
Officers received a satellite distress call from container ship, the Cote De Nazrat, after it came under attack off the east coast of Africa.
Coastguards said the security team on board returned fire after the initial attack, near Zanzibar.
A spokesman said soon after that the pirates withdrew and nobody was injured.
Martin Bidemead, from Falmouth Coastguard, said: "They sent a message to say they were being attacked by pirates.
"After putting the vessel to full speed she managed to evade any further attacks."
